Recently purchased this on/off switch to replace an Insteon dimmer switch that had failed. The new switch is working fine so far. I have had several modules fail over the past few years. I am hoping that Insteon will commit to using better quality components in their products. I much prefer the Insteon system because it does not require a hub to function.
I tried switching to Zwave modules after the quality of Insteon modules deteriorated over the last few years, but I was not happy with Zwave.

I hope I can continue to use Insteon products.

Need a non-subscription configurator

Purchased the On/Off Switch to replace a 1000W switch that was struggling to control a 990W load.
While I've used Insteon for many years, I resent being forced to pay for a subscription just to program the device I just purchased. I don't need nor want to pay Insteon for cloud-based control or scheduling, but support the company's decision to charge customers who want those services. Unfortunately, you can't use the Home Director app to configure a new device unless you first pay for a subscription. Customers who purchase Insteon hardware should be provided with a free option to configure the new hardware.

We appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration on having a subscription. Many of us are Insteon users ourselves and found out the former owner of Insteon had ceased operations when our Hubs went dead. Smartlabs / Smarthome went dark in April 2022 and we acquired the Insteon brand and technology in June 2022. We are a totally separate company and not affiliated in anyway with the previous company. We do understand that subscriptions were not part of the Smarthome business model. However, it is the direction the new company has taken as we try to responsibly build a business under this new ownership team. We feel providing and maintaining Insteon cloud services is a critical service and one where a subscription requirement is understandable. Please note that we do offer a free 1-week trial period for our subscription service.

Simple swap, beautiful Decora switch styling.

I particularly like the light on the switch that indicates on/off status, and the Dual Band control makes this switch in my garage more reliable that the older "Toggle Link" switch I replaced. Easy swap, switch and faceplate!

On/Off Module for LED Bulbs = Success!

I’ve been an Insteon user for many years. I recently added LED bulbs to a circuit controlled by a switch link dimmer unit (about 10 years old), and they flickered badly (two circuits, one 5x12 watt bulbs, one 3x15 watt bulbs, so not a low wattage problem). Even trying a newer switch link dimmer didn’t solve the problem completely, but they reduced the flickering a bit. Switching to the on/off switch completely solved the flickering. LED bulbs are notoriously finicky - some brands work better than others, but I’ve been finding fewer and fewer that behave with the Keypadlinc dimmer modules.
