  • Add Insteon remote control directly to your Insteon setup
  • Snaps onto a DIN rail
  • Sense wiring retains local control at the switch
  • Compatible with latching, single momentary and dual momentary switches
  • Featuring dual-band Insteon technology for the fastest and most reliable performance

Insteon On/Off DIN Rail is a module that clips right onto a DIN rail to add a wide variety of customizable remote control options to multiple lights. Also available in a dimmer version.

A DIN rail is a method of mounting electrical devices; it doesn't carry any power, it's just a mounting solution. Multiple Insteon DIN Rail modules can mount to a single DIN rail making it easy to keep a complicated lighting setup organized.

Essential Info

When planning the electrical wiring for your home or business, avoid adding too many wall switches in a single location. Wall switches ganged together cause homeowner confusion and can quickly ruin the aesthetic of a room. Instead consider adding a single Insteon keypad to control all the lighting. It's easy when combined with Insteon DIN Rail Modules.

Use of DIN rails is common overseas and in US commercial/industrial buildings. Because of their ease of installation, DIN rails are becoming more popular in the US. DIN rail products provide integrators and builders a more custom and organized way to handle complicated wiring circuits.

Insteon DIN Rail Modules clip directly onto a 35mm DIN rail and wires to load, power and neutral. Link it to an Insteon keypad or any other Insteon device for full remote control over the module and it's connected load. Specifically, DIN Rail On/Off is compatible with the "Top hat rail EN 50022" (sometimes referred to as a Type O or Type Ω) The DIN Rail Modules will fit either variation of this style DIN rail (either 15 or 7.5 mm "high" off the mounting surface).

Optional Sense Wire Trigger

The DIN Rail Modules feature sense inputs for special applications where a local "dumb" switch might be necessary in addition to remote Insteon control. Sense inputs are compatible with latching, single momentary and dual momentary wall switches. Connect to any style wall switch to match any type of designer theme (antique, push-button, metal, etc.)

Local Control and Insteon Setup

The DIN Rail Modules have a small paddle that operates similarly to other Insteon wall switches. So, you can turn the connected load on or off by tapping the paddle. Furthermore, a setup button is provided for setting up other properties as well as for linking and un-linking. Finally a dual-color (green and red) LED displays the on (green) or off (red) status of the connected load.

30 of these running for 7 years with NO failures

I used 30 of the DIN modules to replace an ancient low voltage relay lighting system. They went into service in 2017 and I haven't had a single failure. Recently I replaced one of the on/off modules with a dimmer DIN module. That took 15 minutes, but getting various keypads to select different dim levels was interesting. In any case, I'm glad to see these are still being sold because they are near bulletproof and it's good that Insteon is still active.

DIN Rail

While I like the features/functionality and packaging of the ON/OFF Module, the plastic molding of the DIN rail attachment needs to be review. After using two different manufactures of DIN rail, I still could not get the modules to snap in place on the rail when the rail was mounted to the panel. The modules needed to be added/removed with the rail separated from the panel.

Thank you for sharing and sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with the mounting.

Useful for high current control

What I realized is that these relays can be connected and control both `110V and 220V. When old 'Hot Water timer' died, I took out the internals and wired in one of these modules. I also use one to control my 1 1/2hp outdoor 220V Lake Fountain pump. Regarding pump installation, I use an Insteon low-voltage module for input from my Sprinkler timer, and script, to turn on the fountain via either Alexa, Rachio Sprinkler App, and Insteon controller(s), and is very reliable to turn off power to the pump motor when not desired.
