Adding remote control to wired lights usually means replacing switches. Not any more. With Insteon's Micro Dimmer Module, you can install new lighting without having to run a switch leg to a wall switch. Simply install the Micro Dimmer Module at the fixture you wish to control and then link it to any other Insteon controller such as a wall switch, keypad, or sensor.

Alternatively, the Micro Dimmer Module can be installed behind antique, toggle or decorative wall switches while adding the customizable, dimmable remote control functionality of an Insteon Wall Switch Dimmer. Customize your lights with a preset brightness level and ramp rate, and then control it from any Insteon controller.

Add an Insteon Hub and you’ll be able to control it from a smartphone, create schedules and bridge to 3rd party voice control like Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant.

Perfect for my needs!

I have a powered electrical box in a hallway in front of a dark closet. The other hall lights were already controlled by Insteon switches. The micro dimmer switch module was perfect for installing a light at that location that would be controlled by the existing switches. It works great and was easy to install. I did power the module with a lamp cord to make it easier to program before installation.

Too many can lights.

I installed 19 remodel lighting cans in my kitchen/dining room. Each Micro Dimmer controls 2 or 3 fixtures which are easily programmed for various lighting effects.

Reinventing existing room lighting options

As one who has used Insteon devices for several years in numerous homes, I find the micro dimmer switch an indispensable device. Placing one of these switches in each recessed light fixture in what was a six fixture arrangement controlled by one wall switch and then controlling micro dimmers with phone app or an Insteon multi switch device now allows for numerous scene options for rooms. This is particularly handy in entertainment rooms where lighting requirements can vary depending on location within the room.

Small size, Full function

I used two of the micro dimmer modules along with a 6-button dimmer module to control three sets of LED can lights on my covered front porch. Worked great. Allowed independent dimming settings on each set of cans and multiple scenes controlled from the front entry.

Can’t do with out.

I have at least 9 micro inline dimmers from Insteon in my home. When I move to the present home there was no effective solution to one 20amp circuit where I need 5. 20 amps was sufficient but 1 circuit was not. The micro dimmers allow me to turn 1 circuit into 5 group of lights without rewiring my home.

I was very worried when Insteon was ceasing production. I was buying dimmers off eBay because they were so valuable to me. I’m extremely grateful that Insteon is back in production.
