4 Output Relay Modes

Control and integrate many different types of devices to control Insteon lights and appliances using standard sensors.

Control many Insteon devices throughout the house with one dry-contact sensor input. Plus, use the built-in single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch, connect any low voltage powered device for continuous or momentary operation.

I/O Module's Flexibility

I/O Module's flexible output relay can control many different types of low voltage devices, from pool valves to electric door strikes to garage doors due to its different relay modes. When controlling devices like pool valves, you will want the ability to leave it on for an extended period of time, giving it plenty of time to fill the pool. As it approaches the desired water level, then you can remotely turn it off. For devices like electric door strikes, set I/O Module's output relay to momentary, allowing you open the front gate using a Mini Remote*, Keypad button or any other Insteon controller.

A third version of I/O Module's momentary mode allows you to remotely press your garage door button with an Insteon On command, but only if your garage is currently closed. This allows you to open your garage with On command and close it with an Off command. Because I/O Module uses a garage door sensor to know whether the door is open or closed, it only controls the garage when it needs to.

*I/O Module communicates via power line only so if you intend to control it by a Mini Remote (which is RF only), you'll need at least one dual-band Insteon device such as a plug-in module or wall switch to bridge the gap.

A flexible device

I use the i/o modules in a variety of ways: as garage door sensors and openers, as a pulse control for a hot water recirculation pump (turning on a bathroom light triggers the pump), and as a control for low voltage lighting. The modules work well and are easy to configure with the Universal Devices EISY hub.

In the past, the modules have failed occasionally. I'm hoping the quality has improved at the new insteon.com. Time will tell!

Awesome to integrate with my alarm system.

With the director app is very easy to program the i/o module. When my alarm is activated, the i/o module works as scene director and turn on all the house's lights. Greetings from Ecuador.

Great Product Still

this is where Insteon shines with a versatile product like this. Gives the ability to control and read low-voltage contacts and states. Very handy for custom controls.

Insteon 2450s needing replacement after storm.

I’m replacing the old insteon 2450 modules that were way past warranty from garage door control kits, but served many years before a lightning storm took them out. Glad these modules are available again. The modules work well and allows my setup to fully function again for opening, closing, monitoring, and retry closing the garage doors.

Tesla Charging

My tesla parks in the driveway…Garage is a woodworking shop. Built a small cabinet on the side of the house to hold the charging cable. Used the I/O Module to activate an electric lock on the door that can be accessed via my phone.
Also I used a mini on off module triggered via a 2 channel remote connected to Homelink to also open the charger door and trigger a Scene to turn on lights in the house when we arrive home.
